NADP Annual Conference & AGM 2008
Notice of Annual General Meeting
To be held on Tuesday 24th June 2008, 4.15 pm, at The Paramount Hotel, Daventry.
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the National Association of Disability Practitioners will take place on Tuesday 24th June 2008 at the Barcelo Hotel, Daventry during the Annual Conference 2008.
1. Background
The aim of this document is to outline to members the format for the NADP Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 24th June 2008.
2. Procedures for Submitting Motions to the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Members are invited to submit motions to be considered at the AGM. All Motions should be submitted to the NADP Administration Office on the attached form (Appendix 1) no later than Friday 2nd May 2008 (Motions received after this date will not be accepted). All motions should be proposed and seconded by an NADP member.
All motions, including motions proposed by the Board of Directors, will be published on the website and e-mailed to members.
Amendments to any motions should be submitted to the NADP Administration Office no later than Friday 30th May 2008 (Amendments to Motions received after this date will not be accepted). All amendments should be proposed and seconded by an NADP member.
After the closing date for amendments, all motions and their amendments will be published on the website and emailed to members together with a voting paper for non-attending members.
The Closing date for postal votes is Friday 20th June 2008.
No Motion or Amendment to a Motion can be submitted at the Annual General Meeting.

3. Procedures for Annual General Meeting (AGM)
At the AGM each motion will be read out and the Proposer invited to speak about the motion.
If no amendments have been proposed, a vote is taken and results recorded by an independent adjudicator.
If an amendment has been proposed, this will be read after the original motion and the Proposer of the amendment invited to speak about the amendment.
A vote is then taken FIRSTLY on the amendment. If this is carried, then the original motion falls and the amendment is incorporated into the original motion and a vote is then taken on the full amended version. If the amendment fails, then a vote is taken on the original unamended motion.
All votes will be recorded as For/Against/Abstain.
Board Nominations 2008
In accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association, one third of the NADP Board of Directors are required to stand down at the Annual General Meeting. Co-opted Directors are also required to stand down, but can be recommended by the Board to stand for election.
Nominations are invited for the vacant positions.
